Bumpdate 31 Weeks

How Far Along:  31 weeks

Gender: It's a boy!

Movement:  He's still very active.  And strong!  It's getting uncomfortable when he kicks & pushes against me.  Sometimes even painful.

Sleep:  Average most nights but sometimes it takes a long time to fall asleep or when I wake up to use the bathroom, I can't go back to sleep for awhile.

Maternity Clothes:  I occasionally wear a non-maternity shirt but most of the time, I'm in maternity clothes.

Symptoms:  Easily winded & more tired than usual.  I've been having pain near my ribcage right above my stomach.  I think it's ligament pain or some other typical pregnancy ailment.  I remember having it with Alex but I think this time it's been worse.  It's been bothering me a lot the last week.  Oh, and I sometimes have cankles by the end of the day - so gross!!  I haven't had any meltdowns about it this pregnancy but I'm still not a fan.

Aversions:  Lately I've had moments when nothing sounds good.  The other day I ate rice for lunch because everything else sounded unappetizing.  Rice didn't even sound that good - just tolerable.

Cravings:  Salads, fruit and chai tea lattes.  I had an amazing chai tea latte on Saturday at a local restaurant & have been wanting another one ever since!

Best Moment This Week:  We ordered a crib!  And we bought a cube organizer for Alex's room for his toys & books & moved his dresser to the baby's room.  Michael & I have decided we'd like to have the baby's room ready by 36 weeks, so we're trying to make progress.  It seems to be harder this time around with a toddler running around!  I guess my nesting instincts are starting to get stronger because it's stressing me out that the baby's room & guest bedroom aren't organized.  But every time I go in either room, I get really overwhelmed.  Did I mention that these are the two rooms we put all the random boxes in from when we moved?  Michael tries to help but ends up stressing me out worse by basically wanting to get rid of anything that doesn't have an immediate use.  "We don't need extra blankets, right?  And we can get rid of all these pictures frames."  Please send happy thoughts our way to help us from killing each other over the next five weeks...  J

Halloween Wreath

So, Halloween is over but I finally uploaded some recent pics from my camera to the computer.  They included a few of a wreath I made for Halloween.

It started last year when my mom showed me a link to this wreath from Pier 1:
I loved it but I did not love the price tag (I think it was $50 or $60).  More than I care to pay for wreath.  There was also a really cute matching garland but it was also too pricey.  My mom knew how much I liked it & tried to find it after Halloween on sale but they were all sold out.  Boo.

I thought about making a similar one myself but had problems finding a black wreath.  Well, I searched again this year & found one at Michaels!  They didn't have any orange ornaments but Hobby Lobby did.  Yay!

My mom helped me make a similar Christmas wreath several years ago, so I enlisted her help again.  We used wire to attach the ornaments on the wreath.  Ok, I use the term "we" loosely.  My mom & I started the project but I was doing laundry at the time & had to switch loads.  Then Alex woke up from his nap.  So to be honest, my mom & sister did most of the work.  But it wasn't like I was sitting on the couch with my feet up or anything... J

Here's the end result.

I love it!  The different embellished ornaments were cute on the Pier 1 wreath but I really just wanted simple ball ornaments.  It turned out exactly how I wanted it.  Plus, it doubles as an OSU wreath during football season.  Win win!  I've taken down my other Halloween decorations but am leaving this up until I decorate for Christmas.

The next time I do a crafty project, I'll try to post about it before the holiday is over - ha!

Happy Halloween

Being big OSU fans, we decided to dress Alex up as Pistol Pete this year.  We almost did it last year but we didn't have enough time to put the costume together.  Alex is a little bowlegged, so he's the perfect cowboy!  I was originally going to piece it together myself (vest, chaps, cowboy hat, etc) but then my mom found a one piece zip up costume that had it all!  I just bought some play guns, borrowed some boots & drew on some facial hair.  Super easy & super cute, if I do say so myself...

Getting ready

He was not happy about putting on his costume at first.

He warmed up to it, though.

Pistol Pete, a western cowboy & a vet

He cried at the first house.  I think he was a little overwhelmed & didn't really understand what was going on.  Then he was given a sucker (which we let him have right away).  After that, he had NO problem going up to every house & asking for more candy.

Trick or Treat!

He's a pro!

It was a fun evening with great weather!  I've always loved Halloween & it's fun to watch Alex start to get into it, too.

Oh & here's a picture of my costume from work that day.  Our company always has a costume party & I usually dress up.  One of my co-workers is pregnant, too, so we decided to do a costume together.

Thing 1 & Thing 2

We thought it would be a cute idea to make the babies the "things".  We got honorable mention in the contest, but it was a big hit overall.

Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!
