He's still a busy boy. It surprises us sometimes how fast he can crawl. And he is pulling up on everything. If he's not crawling, he's standing. He even has let go & stood by himself for just a second a few times. Alex was an early walker (nine & a half months). Ethan has me thinking he will be, too. We'll see!
He still just has two teeth but he has been a drool factory lately, so we keep thinking another one's coming in. Nothing yet, though. He's still a good eater & so far has liked everything we've given him. He loves sweet potatoes. The other night Michael was feeding him & he would open his mouth SO wide when a spoon full of sweet potatoes came his way. Too funny! Since we started feeding him food three times a day, he's really cut back on how much milk he drinks. He usually only takes one bottle during the day while at daycare. I nurse him in the morning & at night but we've started supplementing some with formula because I don't usually produce enough to get a full bottle for the day. I think I may be close to stopping pumping during the day at work & just relying on formula. Some days I'm completely over it & some days I think I'll keep going. We'll see.
Ethan is still sleeping well. He occasionally wakes up around 6 or 6:30 but goes back to sleep about half of the time on his own. He wakes up around 7 or 7:30 most of the time. Sometimes he even sleeps until 8 but typically not on the weekends - ha.
I am definitely one of his favorite people right now. He can be playing happily on his own but if we happen to lock eyes, he immediately crawls over to me & fusses until I pick him up or get on the ground to let him crawl on me. Same if someone else is holding or playing with him. If we make eye contact, he decides he needs his mama NOW. It's a little inconvenient if I happen to be doing something like laundry or cooking but mostly I don't mind being his special person. I'll take it as long as I can get it!
Ethan also loves his brother & likes to follow him around. Alex is not quite as gentle with Ethan as he was when Ethan was a newborn. It's like now that Ethan is mobile, Alex thinks he's fair game for tackling & rough housing. Ethan is not a big fan of being squished down or being knocked over. I can't imagine why not! But Alex is also helpful with Ethan & can be really sweet.
I wish I could just pause life for awhile & stay right where we are but I also look forward to all the things the future has in store. Fall is a busy time for us but also fun. Looking forward to some cooler weather!
Alex was in a mood when we took these pictures. He wouldn't smile but he threw a fit if he wasn't in the pictures. A two & a half year old can be really fun - ha!
Goof ball!
