Throwback Thursday

Peed on a stick today.  OMG, it's positive!



Present Day
Yep, I'm knocked up.  I like saying "knocked up" instead of pregnant because it makes me laugh.  I was a little surprised by the results.  I had convinced myself I was pregnant the month before, but I ended up being a week late.  I didn't think much of being a week late this time, so I wasn't expecting to see the positive result on the test.  I was just checking in to make sure.  Michael didn't even know I was taking a test that morning.  He was in the other room when I found out & I brainstormed for about two minutes on a fun way to tell him.  But I figured I'd need a little more time for that & I knew I couldn't wait the entire day.  I ended up just shoving the test at him (or as he likes to tell people - she threw a pee stick at me).

I haven't been keeping a pregnancy journal this time.  Mainly because I'm usually too tired & I figured I could just blog about it after the first trimester.  Already this pregnancy has been a little different.  I'm not sure if it's because I have a energetic toddler or this baby is effecting me differently.  Maybe a little of both.  With Alex, I was tired, felt crappy, got really sick between weeks 9 & 10 but felt great after week 11.  With this one, I'm really tired, feel crappy, got really sick between weeks 7 & 8 & still feel blah at week 13.  I haven't worked out hardly at all, which makes me feel like a bum.  I feel like I've been pregnant for about six months even though it's only been three months.  I don't remember feeling like that with Alex...  I've been getting really bad headaches but I think it may be more sinus/allergy related.  I started using my Neti Pot this week.  I hate doing it but it really makes a difference & my head feels much better. 

My due date is January 21st & we don't know the gender yet but hopefully we'll find out next month.  Michael originally said he wanted a girl, so we'd have one of each but now he's thinking two boys would be fun.  I think Alex would like having a little brother.  I go back & forth depending on the day.  With Alex, I was hoping for a boy.  No real reason other than I love seeing daddies with their sons.  And girls scare me a little.  I remember my teenage years - logic & reason was not a big part of my thought process.  Ha!

It's been fun being pregnant dealing with selling our current house & building another & all that goes along with that (sarcasm alert!)  We've been lucky things have gone pretty well & we haven't had any major setbacks, though.  All the changes have still been a little overwhelming but I'm glad we'll be in our new house in plenty of time before the baby comes.

I'll probably do some bumpdates, but for now I'll leave you with a picture of my latest ultrasound.  I think the head is on the left side & the body on the right.  It's always a little hard to tell this early on!  Don't mind the big line going through it - the picture accidentally got folded in my purse.  L
